Please take a few seconds to watch the video above to get an idea of the impact you will make as a Role Model Volunteer!
Thank you for your interest in inspiring children to succeed! By becoming a Role Model volunteer, you will join the diverse team of Role Model Volunteers taking time to reach out to our community’s youth.
The Community Classroom Visit Program places one volunteer role model in one classroom to deliver a special curriculum entitled “Dare to Dream”. The program builds life skills for children and lays the foundation for future success.
A Role Model Volunteer is assigned to one classroom for the duration of the program. The Elementary program is once a week, one hour a week for six weeks. The Middle School Program is once a week, one hour a week, for eight weeks.
Prospective volunteers are required to attend one, one hour orientation session, submit a volunteer application with two character references and pass a background check. Upon background clearance, the volunteer is required to attend one, two hour training.
Role Model Program staff match each volunteer to one classroom. Great care is taken in the match process to assure a successful experience for both volunteers and students!
Role Model Program staff support each volunteer with the tools, training and resources necessary to succeed. Quarterly trainings are held to develop further skills and meet fellow Role Model volunteers. The Role Model Resource Center is available to assist Role Model Volunteers with planning tools and information.
