The Role Model Program is a community based non-profit organization working to assist local teachers by providing skills, motivation, and positive role modeling to their underserved students. Our program, called The Community Classroom Visit Program, pairs a Role Model Volunteer to your classroom for six to eight, one-hour sessions to present the unique "Dare to Dream©" curriculum.
Elementary (4/5) and middle school (6/7/8) Santa Clara County teachers of underserved students.
The middle school program is delivered in eight, 45-50 minute class visits, once a week over an eight week period by one volunteer. The elementary school program consists of six visits. The teacher is required to be in the classroom and is encouraged to interact with the Role Model Volunteer and the class as much as possible.
Our program empowers and motivates underserved students, increases educational expectations, teaches positive goal setting, positive decision making and college readiness skills.
Role Model Program staff take great care and attention in the match process. Only screened and trained volunteers are allowed into your classroom. On your application you tell US who will be the best match for your students based on ethnicity, gender, occupation or background.
Depending on your Role Model volunteer request, we may be able to match you in a day or for more specific volunteer characteristics, many take two weeks to one month. Apply early to avoid delays!

Important: You must submit a separate/new request for follow-on classes even if you would like to have the same Role Model Volunteer conduct the program for your next class. This process helps coordinate all aspects of the program.
